“I SEE You” is a nationwide creative project. It honours the often-unseen experiences of parents carers of children with non-visible disabilities. Examples include autism, diabetes, and epilepsy. Through collective quilt-making and storytelling, the project gives space to voices often unheard, fostering connection, recognition, and creative expression.

A quilt of shared experience
Over the course of the project, 122 parent carers from across the UK stitched their stories into a collective artwork. Each embroidered ‘eye’ symbolises vigilance, care, and love. It represents an intimate window into the world of caring for a child whose challenges aren’t always visible to others.
This powerful body of work now forms a large-scale textile quilt. It is part protest banner and part comfort blanket. The quilt reflects a spectrum of experiences, from the everyday to the profound.

With thanks
To the incredible parent carers who shared their stories, experiences, and emotions—thank you for your trust, honesty, and courage. Your voices are at the heart of this project. They bring visibility to the unseen. They give recognition to the often-overlooked reality of caring for children with non-visible disabilities.
And finally, to everyone who has engaged with I SEE You, thank you. This includes attending events, sharing the project, or simply taking a moment to listen. Acknowledgement is powerful, and your willingness to see, hear, and understand means more than words can say.
