Lost then Found is a collaborative art project bringing people together to explore loss and discovery through making, storytelling, and shared creativity. This pack lets you take part from home, creating your own cyanotype prints inspired by a set of gentle, reflective creative prompts.

Cyanotype is a beautifully simple photographic printing process — using sunlight and a light-sensitive solution to turn your drawings, or found objects, into striking Prussian-blue prints. No previous experience is needed; full instructions are included, and the process is designed to be relaxed, forgiving, and enjoyable, whatever the result.

What’s inside your pack:

• 2 sheets of paper, pre-prepared with cyanotype solution, for you to experiment with
• A tester strip, also pre-prepared with cyanotype solution
• 1 piece of fabric, ready to cyanotype
• 1 sheet of acetate, for drawing your image
• 1 sheet of Perspex, to hold everything together while printing
• A swing label
• 2 clips
• 1 marker pen
• An SAE stencil sheet
• Greyboard
• A stamped addressed envelope for returning your fabric piece

Alongside your materials, you’ll receive a set of creative prompts to work from, plus full step-by-step instructions by email.

Take part, and keep a piece too

Your paper cyanotypes are yours to keep — a memento of the process, and of the reflections that came with it. If you’d like to go further, you can send your finished fabric piece back to me, where it will join others from across the UK to be stitched into a large-scale collaborative quilt. The finished artwork will tour in exhibitions nationally, carrying every contributor’s piece of the story with it.

This project makes space for what’s often felt but rarely said — turning personal loss into something shared, and something found.
